I always offer but I never know if it's read as polite or as 'not interested.'
The OFFER matters way more than the outcome. A girl who reaches for her wallet reads as someone who isn't using me. Most of us will still pay, but the gesture is everything.
I notice and appreciate the offer every time. It's never read as 'not interested' — it's read as 'has self-respect.'
