Does the 'nice guy' actually finish last or is that just an excuse?

Asking myself this a lot lately.
Genuinely nice guys do great. The 'nice guys finish last' crowd are usually guys who are nice expecting something back, then get bitter. That's not nice, that's a transaction. Real kindness is wildly attractive.
Nice isn't the problem. Boring is the problem, and passive is the problem. Be kind AND have a spine AND make a move. That guy wins every time.
